11. EARNINGS PER SHARE

Basic earnings per share amounts are calculated by dividing profit for the year, net of tax attributable to

owners of the parent by the weighted average number of ordinary shares outstanding during the financial

year.

The following tables reflect the profit and share data used in the computation of basic and diluted earnings

per share for the years ended 31 March:

At the forthcoming Annual General Meeting, a final dividend in respect of financial year ended 31 March

2016, of 9.0% single tier amounting to a dividend payable of approximately RM24,927,000 (9.0 sen net

dividend per ordinary share) will be proposed for shareholders’ approval. The financial statements for the

current year do not reflect this proposed dividend. Such dividend, if approved by the shareholders, will be

accounted for in equity as an appropriation of retained profits in the financial year ending 31 March 2017.
